1. There is a small potential for change in the resonance of your voice after nose surgery. Hence you should discuss the extent of the nose surgery with your surgeon. If your nose surgery involves the sinuses or nasal turbinates, the potential of voice change is more. Only Rhinoplasty may not affect your voice, or it may affect voice only to a small extent if the nasal valve area or the nasal airflow is disturbed.
2. If your nose is blocked or obstructed, you may also experience an improvement in your voice along with the opening of the nasal airway.
3. There is always a small possibility of vocal cord damage during intubation for general anesthesia which may be temporary or permanent.
4. You may not be able to sing to your full capacity in the immediate post operative period due to nasal congestion or while regaining control of your nasal valve resistance. Allow a healing period of up to four to six weeks.
