What Is The Prognosis For The Increase In Fluid Level Affecting The Vision Due To Retinopathy?

I am a 43-year-old female diagnosed with central serous retinopathy five weeks ago. after two weeks my fluid level went from a mountain to more of a Rollinghill. my central vision got worse. I went back yesterday and the fluid is almost gone but there is what the doctor called scar tissue in the middle and my central vision is still very poor he gave me an injection of Avastin yesterday how long is that going to take to work? What is my prognosis?

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having central serous retinopathy followed by edema of the retinal tissue for which you are treated with avastin injection.
Central serous retinopathy by itself without any complications has got good prognosis and it will resolve over 3 months with good return of visual acuity. Since in your case there is a complication in the form of edema the visual prognosis depends on the response to avastin. Hence to tell accurately about the prognosis we have to wait and see for the response to avastin.

Thank you
