What Is Risk Involved In Going For Amniocentesis During Pregnancy?

This is my second pregnancy, and have a 6 yr old healthy daughter. My age is 35 yrs 9 mths, ht 5 6, wght is 88.9 and am 16.5 weeks pregnant. My USG Pregnancy Level 1 was normal. In double marker test Trisomy 21 Risk is 1:238 . I went in for the quadruple test and Trisomy 21 is 1:236. Both me and my husband s father are diabetic. I am taking Epilex chrono 200 mg for absence seizure. My doctor is advising amniocentesis. What is risk involved in going in for the test? Which would be the best center for doing the test and what is the cost involved?
