What Is Osgood- Schlatter Disease?

Hi, I was wondering if there is any way to tell if it is more likely a person has osteosarcoma or osgood-schlatters. I had an X-ray today and wanted to be able to mentally prepare myself for either or. My doctor said he suspected osgood- schlatters but sent me for and X-ray just in case. He didn t mention osteosarcoma but I know about the cancer and from doing research the symptoms are similar for them.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

An x-ray should be able to differentiate between the two conditions. CT SCAN & MRI studies should confirm it.FNAC or open biopsy will be confirmatory. But why not leave it for the treating doctor to decide.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nirmal Chander Gupta, Orthopaedic Surgeon
