What Is Meant By Shooting Cervix Pain In Pregnancy?
i am 39/2 weeks pregnant with my first baby, head is 2/5 palpable.. get very sharp shooting pains in my cervix all the time, i feel i need to wee all the time although i dont actually have to go. all day today i have had very bad gas and have painless braxton hicks all the time. could labour be near?
At 39 + weeks of pregnancy, 2/5 head palpable abdominally means that the head had engaged in the inlet of the pelvis. So now starting of your labour pains is not far away, may be within week. As the head of the baby gets engaged, there is pressure on the urinary bladder which causes frequency of urination - again indicating your labour pains are to start soon. Braxton Hicks contractions are throughout the pregnancy. But now if you feel that uterus is contracting strong, that also indicates that you are about to start the labour pains. Yes madam, your labour is very imminent. 39 weeks is not at all early to go in labour. Do not worry. The things seem to be absolutely normal and physiological. Relax and be prepared to welcome the arrival of your baby in this world. Congratulations!
