Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Rough, white bump on labia minora right near vaginal opening? I noticed it a few months ago and just realized it s grown much bigger since then. It is occasionally painful and Burns and I m often very itchy around the entire area. I m not able to get to my GYN before I leave for college and I m very worried and don t know what to do.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM An itchy bump on the labia minora may be caused by a local vaginal infection by a fungus or bacteria, STIs like syphilis and herpes or just local labial irritation by panties.I will advise you see your GP if GYN not possible.Just a simple physical examination enough to have an idea of the probable cause. If need be, your GP may request for test that may help identify the cause and you may see the GYN only if really necessary.Tests like Vaginal swap smear, syphilis, herpes test may be helpful.I will encourage good genital hygiene, avoid panties that press on bump or rub it. Hope my answer will help you Regards
