What Is Interpreted From My Wife's Ultrasound?
hi doc, we did an ultrasouns of KUB of my wife.
following are results:
Both kidneys are normal in size with increased renal cortical echotexture. The Cortico medullary differentiation is partially maintained bilaterally (R>L).No evidence of hydronephrosis or calculus seen. Right Kidney is 9.6*4.1 cm (cortical thickness-10mm); Left Kidney is 8.4*3.7 cm (cortical thickness-8mm)
Urinary Bladder is well distended and appears normal.No evidence of any wall thickening or abnormality.No evidence of any intrinsic or extrinsic bladder abnormality detected. Prevoid-266 cc ; Post Void- 20cc (Not significant)
Uterus appears normal in size.And shows normal in shape & echo pattern. Endometrial echo complex measure mm & appear normal.no obvious focal lesion seen.
Both Ovaries: appear normal in size, shape and echo pattern. No obviuos free fluid or lymphadenopathy is noted in the abdomen.
Impression:
Bilateral increased renal cortical echogenicity with partially maintained corticomedullary differentiation.
Please suggest.. her age is just 31. :(

Bilateral increased renal cortical echogenicity with partially maintained corticomedullary differentiation suggests renal parenchymal disease.
She need proper clinical examination and investigations.
She need investigations like routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT(serum urea,creatinine,creatinine clearance,GFR,serum electrolytes like sodium,potassium,phosphorus,chloride,bicarbonate etc).
Further investigation can be done if needed.
Proper treatment depend upon clinical examination and investigation reports.
