What Is Intense Pain Under The Right Shoulder Blade Suggestive Of?

I have intense pain under my right shoulder blade for over a month. Yesterday I went to the E.R. was given 2 loritabs and xrays of the neck and spinal cord, everything looked good. I am under the impression that this problem could be trapped gas since every time I belch it feels so good but this has gone on so long I just could not believe gas would stay around this long . When I come home from E.R. my shoulder felt fairly good and pain had subsided and about an hour after that I had an intense pain on the left side just under the rib cage and this pain was very sore to the touch, now after sleeping last night the pain under shoulder blade is back and the pain on left rib cage is still there. This problem is making me think I might be turning into a hypochondriac but I do have a very high pain tolerance and just don t know how to get rid of this trapped gas ,if that is what it is. Thank you for your response

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcaremagic

The soft loose stool may indicate that she may have diarrhea.
This is most usually due to viral or bacterial infection.

Fluid management, to prevent dehydration, if one of the most important aspects of treatment.
Oral rehydration fluids such as pedialyte , should be used to give back fluid and electolytes ( salts she would be losing).

When there is a 4 hour window with no diarrhea, solid food should be restarted with small amounts of dry food initially.

Probiotics either on their own or in yogurt would help with resolution.

After the infection has resolved, you can consider asking your doctor for a referral to a nutritionist to help with weight.

I hope this helps
