Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! Just found a hard lump in my 20 months old son s mouth, right in the middle of the roof of the mouth where the hard and soft palate meet. My husband says he has the same thing since forever, but I am not convinced and am very scared what it could be... No significant discoloration maybe a bit whiter than the surrounding.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your toddler have symptoms of hard lump in roof of mouth which could be due to multiple reasons such as mucocele, torus palatinus, and due to irritation of mucosa.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist once for proper examination and doctor may order biopsy along with blood tests and examine it physically. Doctor may prescribe course of antibiotics and can surgically remove it. Give child plenty of fluids. Do not touch or press it.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
