Hi,

Fucidin (fusidic acid) is a topical antibiotic commonly used to treat skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It is only the oral antibiotics which may reduce the contraceptive effects of the pills. When applied locally on the affected area of the skin while on contraceptive pills, fucidin does not affect the pill.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
