What Is Causing Sore Throat And Blockage In My Childs Throat?

My son is 5 and he is complaining with sore throat and says something feels like it is stuck in it. He has vomitted a couple of times and now I see something white on upper left opening of throst but does not look like a puss pocket. What could be causin this?

Hello. Thank you for your question. I'm sorry your son is not well. The symptoms you describe are very common in this age range. The sore throat may be either viral, in which case it will resolve on it's own, or bacterial, which will require antibiotic. The sense that something is stuck is most likely phlegm produced by the infection. I recommend consulting with your doctor so the correct diagnosis may be made and treatment started. Until then, plenty of fluids, and rest.
