What Is Causing Runny Slimy And Bloody Poops?

Hi, my daughter 10 months has had a cough cold and fever in & off for a week now.. Since a couple of days she started to have runny slimy poops with traces of blood.. The GP said that it is part of the virus she is carrying but I want to be sure if there is nothing to worry about. Can you help?
