What Is Causing My High Blood Pressure And Loss Of Weight?

I suffer from schizo affective disorder, and am currently on zyprexa, epilum and avanza. I ve lost a lot of weight and in a short time period, my blood pressure was taken today and was very high also. I am getting a blood test to see if I have an over active thyroid, if this is the case, what can be done?

Hi welcome to HCM.
Elevated blood pressure in your case is secondary to the drugs being used for schizoaffective disorder.I advise you to reassess the drugs being used for this.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6 gm day.Antihypertensives like beta blockers and calcium channel blockers will help to reduce the blood pressure.Get your thyroid profile checked, avoid overtreatment to prevent hyperthyroid symptoms.Get a baseline ecg and 2 dimensional echo to rule out organic heart disease.Consult your doctor for further queries.
Thank you.
