Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum,
Thyroid gland can be compared to a honeycomb where in the spaces are filled with some semisolid material called colloid. In some thyroid conditions there is deposits of a mineral called calcium (as in bone) over the soft tissues in the thyroid forming a dense nodule called calcification. This can sometimes lead to the thyroid cancer. In this case there are some small opacifications which can be calcium deposits in the thyroid gland.
Take care

Regards
Dr. Naveen Kumar
