What Is Metronidazole Used For?

Hello my wife is taking metronidazole and l have no ideal why. i asked her and she responded that its just an antibotic she took because she work in a hospital where there are lots of germs. Should l be concerned as a husband? I see mostly research about the treatment for viginal bacteria through sexual conduct. l dont understand what is is for.

Metronidazole is an antibiotic that is used to treat a wide variety of infections. It works by stopping the growth of certain bacteria and parasites.

This antibiotic treats only certain bacterial and parasitic infections.

However Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.

Metronidazole may also be used with other medications to treat certain stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by a bacteria (H. pylori).
