HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Gabapentin was initially designed to be used mainly for seizures/epilepsy but it has been found to be very useful for neuralgia ( nerve related pain) and chronic pain.

If the pain that you are experiencing has been persisting for a long period of time or your doctor believes that it may be nerve related pain then this may be the reason for giving you this medication.

You may want to discuss this with him.

I hope this helps
