What Is Dextrocardia Situs Inversus And Can This Be Inherited?

i'm regine (20) im applying for a work last year and my xray shows that i have dextrocardia situs inversus .and the doctor doesn't explained it futher to me ..but then when i have my xray again the diagnosis is tyhe same ..my question is .is there any future effect on my body? could i possibly have any heart disease or die early? and could my 3 year old child inherit it?

This is Dr Amit.Dextrocardia is a congenital defect in which the apex of the heart is situated on the right side of the body. Dextrocardia situs inversus refers to the heart being a mirror image situated on the right side. They may be prone to a number of bowel, esophageal, bronchial and cardiovascular disorders (such as double outlet right ventricle, endocardial cushion defect and pulmonary stenosis)
The pedigree suggests X-linked recessive inheritance means it runs in family but as far as I am aware the genetic link hasn't been found most likely because this is a rare condition. Hope i have given satisfactory answer to your question
