Your question does not reflect specific pathology , some time it is the only feeling that some air is trapped [Due to anxiety induced Tachycardia] and if this symptom is associated with Exertional Dysponea and heaviness, or mild pain should go for cardiac evaluation
As for as the herb for trapped air at upper chest is concerned the herb of choice is Inula racemosa [also called Pushkar moola]
1. air or gas trapped in the upper chest area, causes chest tightness, chest pain, shortness of breath, leading to unnecessary panic and anxiety among patient(s), for any cardiac pathology.
2. could also be PCS (Precordial Catch Syndrome).
3. avoid swallowing of air (sipping tea, chewing gum or tobacco, aerated drinks)
4. eat slowly, avoid haste and chew properly avoiding over eating.
5. regular exercises to improve the tone of the abdominal muscles.
6. Tab Gasex in Ayurveda of Himalaya company has shown good results.
7. Talk with your health care advisor there about the same.

If some air has got trapped in your chest, as such there is no treatment. It will be gradually taken up with time. Otherwise start inflating 6-10 balloons twice daily for an early recovery- until all the air present in your lung gets absorbed .

Trapping of air in lungs in ayurveda is considered as the result of vitiated kaph or direct injury. In the first case the symptoms are more relevant if there is more of phlegmatic condition then haridra and trikatu i.e. marich maghan and sonth break the phlegmatic connection and release trapped air. If there is no phlegum then asfoetida and lashun are better options. In cases related to injury mrig shring bhasm with hot water acts better.

Good evening, 2 days ago I had like an anxiety attack and I was like non stop crying and all in a sudden I started coughing and my throat got tight and I couldn t breathe, my chest got tight and I felt like one of my lungs collapsed. I only get asthma symptoms when I have an upper respiratory infection or bronchitis. My daughter is asthmatic and I carry a rescue inhaler for her. I tried to reach for it did like around six puffs but I couldn t breathe so I reached out for her nebulizer and I took a Benadryl. After 3 vials of albuterol and the Benadryl, I was able to breathe a little bit better but I am not sure what really happened. I currently have no alergies or a cold. Can you get short of breath and anaphilactic shock symptoms from an anxiety attack and lots of crying? I don t understand but I felt like I was going to die from the tightness of my throat and I coulnd t get any air in my lungs. I am still feeling weak from the experience and just talking a little bit makes me feel short of breath. Any insights or thoughts of what might happened will be greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

My son is an elite middle distance runner who is 15 years old. He has been experiencing sharp pain on the left side of chest below the nipple while doing his workouts and occasionally when relaxing. I am taking him to doctors in next few days but was wondering if this could be heart disease or the benign precordial catch syndrome. He has a lot of allergies and allergy induced asthma occasionally. Pretty good health but does get excema and itches a lot while exercising and sweating. Thanks concerned
Hi, I woke up about an hour ago with a pain in the left part of my chest and it hurt to breathe, I wasn't physically hurt recently. I looked online and Precordial Catch Syndrome seemed like what it was, I'm worried because the pain has not gone away and both my wrists and arms were in pain. I'm 17 and I'm overweight(270-280) Is it possible for me to have a heart attack in my sleep or something? And should I go see a Doctor?
