What happens when the uvula drops?

It’s been a couple months after getting my tonsils removed. And my uvula and the upper part of my throat seriously looks like it falling down. When I look at my throat it looks like a lopsided M and the middle being my uvula. Also after my surgery I have put myself into huge coughing fits just my swollowing my water the wrong way.

Hi,

It is quite common after tonsillectomy and it is due to empty space created after tonsil removal. Nothing much to worry and no treatment is required. If you are so much worried you can consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I was using a whipped cream canister and n2o ended up spraying into the back of my throat icing the entire roof of my mouth and my uvula. I m pretty sure I got some kind of freezer burn because I could taste the ice flakes when it happened. My uvula has been hurting for the last 2 days and swallowing hurts. What should I do?

I woke up with my uvula very swollen. When I finally looked at it in the mirror I was sort of shocked to see that the entire bottom portion is white. What in the world is going on? I ve had a swollen uvula when I ve had a sore throat before. But im not even sick this time.
