Hi,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have gone through your query.

As you know Huntington's disease is a genetic disorder which shows autosomal dominant mode of inheritance,Which means if one parent is affected there is fifty percent chance to the baby for developing HD.
The peculiar thing about Huntington's is even if you have the genetic changes from birth you develop the disease only in the adulthood. So it is difficult to predict wether you develop HD or not.But if you do a genetic testing and it shows the mutation then it is hundred percent sure that you develop HD by the age of 40.
If you have a family history of HD its better to do a genetic testing before planning to have a baby because you may inheret disease and there is no cure for HD.If you don't have a family we do not recommend the genetic testing.
Currently no preconceptions genetic recommended for Alzheimer's disease.
Testing programs in high risk individuals include pre conceptional testing for people who plan to have babies and pre symptomatic testing to find out wether a high risk individual develop HD in adulthood or not.
