What Dosage Of Regestrone Is Needed To Postpone Period?

Hi, I ve known about regestrone 5mg as a pill which can regularize periods. I want to know whether regestrone 5 mg will also be totally helpful to postpone my periods? My periods are due on 23rd of this month but I wish to postpone it for atleast 5 days. Should I take regestrone 5mg for this, will it serve my purpose? And, for how many days and times it is to be taken? Please assist !!

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

If you DON'T use other contraceptive pill, then you can take REGESTRONE (Norethisterone pill) to delay your period (max 1 week). It is available over the counter.

Usual dose is 5 mg thrice daily, commencing 3 days prior to period due date. After stopping them, you will get your period within 5 to 7 days.

Some side effects like nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramp, irregular spotting, breast tenderness may develop in next cycle if you continue the pill for long time.

Hope I have answered your query. Wish your good health and take care.
