What Doi Do To Get Rid Off The Stinking Gas When On Naproxen For Arthrites Pain?

I have been prescribed naproxen 500 for my arthrites pain, and itworks well for that, but in the month or two that I have been taking it I have horrible smelly gas every day from late afternoon till I go to bed. I can t hardly stand to be near anyone else.Is there something else I can take or do to get ridof the horrible smelly gas?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Naproxen and other NSAIDS can cause irritation of the stomach and bloating which may result in the gas that you are describing.

To reduce this effect you may have to make changes in your diet to avoid foods that may also have this problem and may therefore be making it worse.

Foods such as carbonated drinks, cabbage, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, turnips and brussel sprouts are associated with increased gas production.

I really appreciate your concern and from the history given here I would say that this is not due to the medicine that you are taking but could be due to the intestinal infection and in my opinion "Tab Metronidazole 400 mg twice in day for five days" would subside this symptom, take care and have a nice day,
