What Does Ultrasound And MRI Report Suggest?

my mothers ultrasound report shows hepatomegaly with fatty changes: splenomegaly with enlarged liver span 17.30 cm and spleen 12.6 cm earlier mri detected dilated structure adjacent superior to prominent left ovary, representing hydroalpinx with pelvic inflammatory diseases. please help in understanding

Thanks for writing in.

The normal liver measurement is 14.5 cms and spleen is usually up to 13.0 cms in craniocaudal distance. The liver is certainly enlarged with fatty changes. She might be having non alcoholic fatty liver. Her liver function tests need to be done and causes of her enlarged liver detected.

The hydrosalpinx is an inflammatory condition of the tubes and as mentioned it is due to pelvic inflammatory disease.

Both conditions are different and need to be treated separately.
