What Does Tingling Sensation In The Hands And Lips Indicate?

My male friend, age 55, is having tingling both arms/hands and his lips. He is having some difficulty speaking but can smile and shows no other signs of stroke. He had a heart attack a few years ago and has a stent. He claims he just doesn t feel right. Any ideas?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have tingling sensation in the hands and lips which could be due to many reasons associated with numbness and tingling sensation like initial stage of bell's palsy, atherosclerosis , multiple sclerosis , diabetes and vitamin deficient. I would suggest you to start low dose steroid immediately. Consult general physician for perfect diagnosis and to find out exact cause. Doctor may perform physical examination and take history in special reference to nervous system along with blood test. For now give gentle massage to your lips with olive oil or almond oil and take half spoon of cinnamon powder in glass of water to improve blood flow. You should go for CT scan Or MRI of brain and get it treated accordingly. Lip injury can also cause such symptoms , so consult oral surgeon also .
