What Does This Ultrasound Test Result During Pregnancy Indicate?
Hi I m 8 month pregnant. Yesterday I had ultrasound . It showed that my placenta has matured. I have grade 3 maturity. This is my first baby. Is it a cause of concern. What should be done? I m worried. My gynac has prescribed some medicine. Will everything be ok.
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. Mature placenta means that it looks older than period of gestation. In case of Mature placenta baby needs to be closely monitored especially if the mother is diabetic, smoker or hypertensive. As in mature placenta the blood supply to fetus decreases, hence there is danger of fetal distress. I would suggest you not to be much worried. Just have a regular weekly checkup. Hope it helps best.
