What Does This Ultrasound Report Of Kidney Indicate?

Hi good afternoon, I am Jacklyn from Malaysia. My husband was done the ultrasound due to urine with blood for almost 4 days and the report shown as below:- normal renal sizes. Mild dilatation of the left pelvicalyceal systems. the patient has not pain on the left. This could be due previous obstruction or non obstructive mid dilatation. no stone or mass in the kidneys or urinary bladder. Prostate is 26cc Is these report ok ? Thanks .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome to my Virtual Clinic. I have carefully worked through your husband's ultrasound of kidney ureter and bladder, and it suggests there is nothing wrong with the normal texture of the kidneys, bladder and ureter.

No stones that may be causing obstruction or that may have caused impingement on the surrounding areas of kidney and have caused this blood in urine.

There is slight dilatation in the collection system of the left kidney and that is also not related to the latest episode of the blood in urine.

So you need not worry and sit relaxed. He must have had an acute Urinary tract infection and due to that he had this episode of blood in urine.

Final Impression:-
Yes this ultrasound report is totally fine.

Have you ever any queries related to health of you or your household, feel free to write down my name in start of your question as a reference, and I will get back to you in no time.

Hope it helps. Have a nice time.

Regards!
