Hi,

It’s a lot of words to say that there is just a bit too much fat stored in your liver, also called a steatosis or fatty liver. This itself is only a symptom that can be the result of dozens of conditions. Some people have it even without a reason. Estimations are that up to 25% of all Americans have fatty infiltrations in their liver. So, you’re definitely not alone with this. But, of course, a hepatologist (specialist for liver conditions) should now try to find the reason. If one is found it can be treated. If no reason is found, well, take it as it is.

It’s just like some stress for your liver, so you want to avoid all extra stress on top. That means no or very little alcohol, a healthy NORMAL diet, careful with corn syrup, fructose (including sweet juices/fruits) and too many carbohydrates. Fat itself is not a big problem as long as your cholesterol level and triglycerides don’t go through the roof. So it’s a very common condition, something to care for but NOT being too worried about.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
