What Does This Ultrasound Indicate?

I am having left renal colic. An US abdomen showed 4 mm caliculi seen in minor calyx , small anechoic cortical cyst of 12 mm,seen at left renal upper pole and increased bowel gal pattern seen. I would like to know whether I am having serious disease or not.

Thanks for your query

The USG report indicates that you have small renal calculi without any hydronephrosis ( i.e they are non-obstructive). They should get flushed out if you drink a lot of water.Regarding the cortical cyst it is very small and can be ignored.

There is nothing to worry and you will be fine. Just get a repeat USG scan after a 2-3 weeks to see if the calculi have disappeared.

Hope I have answered your query
