Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What do this mean. HISTORY: Followup pregnancy, possible ectopic. The uterus is about 7.8 cm in length. Thickened endometrium with a gestational sac. The yolk sac is visualized. There is a fetal pole of 2.8 mm, 5 weeks 6 days gestation; however, there are no fetal heart tones identified. Question if this is related to demise or very early IUP and close followup is recommended. There is no free fluid. The right ovary is 3.7 and the left 4.6 cm. IMPRESSION: SINGLE INTRAUTERINE PREGNANCY AT 5 WEEKS 6 DAYS BUT NO FETAL HEART TONES AT THIS TIME. CORRELATION RECOMMENDED. NO ADNEXAL MASS.
Dear- thanks for using our service, I understand your concern ,specially after having an ectopic pregnancy. Now you are pregnant again, the uterus has a normal size for a 5 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy. The yolk sac is where the embryo is localized. However, it is too early in pregnancy to be able to hear the fetal heart beat for which they recommended close follow up. I would advise you to continue basic care ,have an obgyn follow up and ultrasound in 4 weeks. No evidence of any mass like ovarian lesion (that is the meaning of no adnexal mass) or ectopic pregnancy. I hope that my advise has been helpful Dr.JC
