What Does This Transvaginal Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

I had D&c last June 2014, because of prolonged bleeding. Then last Feb 24, I had a transvaginal ultrasound and the result is non-uniform echogenicity, homogenous background with regular cystic spaces suggestive of hyperplastic changes, the midline echo is not defined, the myometriel-endometrial junction is regular. Size is 1.52 cm. do i need a hysterectomy? Or just another d&c?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

See, your reports are not very abnormal except the hyper plastic changes and cystic spaces. Well, this means that the tissues have some increased growth and might or might not change to metaplasia or altered growth. I would suggest to follow up regularly with ultrasounds at intervals and then decide accordingly. Hysterectomy is the last option and should be advised only when your family is completed and you are fit for surgery. Your gynecologist will decide it eventually.

Hope this was helpful.
Regards
