Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
From the trans-
vaginal ultrasound scan report you have posted, the following conclusions can be drawn:
1. Ovaries are of normal size and right ovary shows sign that it is ready for ovulation process.
2. Minimal fluid in Cul-de-sac suggests that ovulation has not taken place.
3. Endometrium (lining of
uterine cavity) shows slight thickening and is in secretory phase of the cycle.
4. But, the uterus is two in number - it is an anomaly.
Uterus didelphys represents a uterine malformation where the uterus is present as a paired organ when the embryo-genetic fusion of the Mullerian ducts fails to occur. Hence, there is a double uterus with two separate cervices, and often with a double vagina.
Such people with double uterus needs special attention during
pregnancy as
premature birth and mal-presentation are commonly associated.
Hope the information provided is clear.
All the best.
