What Does This Pap Smear Report Indicate?

Hi I just received results from a pap smear. it indicates numerous neutrophils. diagnosis is negative for intra-epithelial lesion or malignancy. there are squamous epithelial cells showing moderate inflammatory change. candida species present. I am 42, about 1.54m tall, weight 85 kg of African origin

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
From the report of your PAP smear findings, the following things can be concluded.
1. The report does not indicate malignancy.
2. Since numerous neutophils are seen, it indicates there is an acute bacterial infection on.
3. Since Candida species is present along with inflammatory changes, it indicates fungal infection to be present along.
Hence, it could be stated that there is a mixed infection.
Kindly consult Gynecologist with the report for appropriate management.
