What Does This Lipid Profile Test Result Indicate?

Hello sir...I have got my lipid profile 3 hours after breakfast with triglycerides level 235 (high),the rest normal.I am 48 years old with abdominal obesity and no other risk factors.would you prescribe me to for medication? Or what is your prescription? Thanks

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Triglyceride level of 235 mg/dl is definitely high. This could be due to the investigation being done after breakfast, as ideally, lipid profile needs to be done on an overnight fasting sample of 10 to 12 hours.
Right now, there is no indication for medications. Kindly control it by means of diet and regular exercise.
You may get the triglycerides estimated again after 2 weeks following an overnight fast.
You may consult Physician with the report for evaluation and advise.
