What Does This Lipid Profile Test Result Indicate?

Hi, I am 25 years old and overweight. I had taken a Glucose, SGPT and Lipid profile this morning. The results are:Glucose: 99 mg/dl,Cholesterol: 205 mg/dl,Triglycerides: 235 mg/dl,HDL: 34.8 mg/dl,LDL: 123 mg/dl,VLDL: 47 mg/dl,SGPT/ALT: 37 U/L.Can you help me with the interpretation of the results? I had taken a soda last night, is this the one causing the triglyceride levels to be high? Thanks.

Hi,
For better interpretation of test results I want to know-
1) Your height and weight.
2) Family history of Diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol problem.

3) For what purpose blood tests done just as routine check up or any special indications.

As you are obese there might be possibility of fatty liver which usually associated with high triglycerides.
Triglycerides level may be affected by fatty food intake and not by soda.
Your lipid profile report does not require medicines but requires changes in diet (low calorie & fat intake), regular exercise, weight reduction.
Your fasting blood sugar level is normal but on higher side, it is advisable to do oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) now and if normal once in a year.
Recheck your Lipid profile after 3 months of life style changes.
