What Does This Endoscopy Test Result Indicate?

Hi, my endoscopy impressions were, benign-appearing esophageal stricture. Biopsied. Erythema at the gastroesophageal junction. Biopsied. tenting of GEJ on retroflexion and POP when passing scope through GEJ Nodular mucosa in the stomach. Biopsied. Erosion in antrum with dried blood. Hiatus hernia.Normal examined duodenum. Biopsied. Originally found to be anemic, then pos hemma stool. A single non bleeding colonic angioectasia. Treated with thermal therapy. rest of colonoscopy was normal.Sounds like a lot to me. Wondering about recommendations to discuss ?achalasia/pseudochalasia? Thank you.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
You have undergone 2 Endoscopies.

1. Upper GI Endoscopy: The results and explanations are :
-Benign means Not-Cancer, Stricture means permanent narrowing- you have got a non-cancerous looking permanent narrowing of the esophagus and a piece of tissue- biopsy has been taken from this are.
-Erythema- redness at the junction of esophagus with the stomach, this too biopsy taken.
-Tent like appearance of the upper most part of the stomach when the scope end is revered-up (retroflesion), and when the scope is being passed through this junction the area pops means gets ballooned out , which is not normal- this is suggestive of hiatus hernia (mentioned later).
-Mucosa of the stomach is nodular means in spite of a smooth appearance it has appearance as it grains are there .
-Antrum , a lower part of the stomach has an small ulcer which has a clot attached on it.
-Duodenum is the first part of the small intestines in continuity with stomach and is norma.

- You have anemia- low hemoglobin hence subjected to stool occult blood, that is hemma test to see whether the bleeding was there.

2. Colonoscopy: angioectasia is a collection of small blood vessels was found without active bleeding, hence treated with thermal , means heating - this causes the blood vessels to shrink.
Rest of the colonoscopy was normal.

Achalasia and Pesudoachalasia :: means narrowing at the lower end of the esophagus as was found and biopsied.
Barium swallow helps for this diagnosis.
