What Does This Dexa Scan Result Indicate?
I got a call from my Dr s Pa s assistant saying my dexa scan results were back. She said I showed signs of Oxyp.. or Oxip something. Said I need to add calcium and Vitamin D. Do you know what that is? What does it mean? She didn t say osteoporosis. I don t see her again until Wednesday.

A DEXA svan measures the done density and cannot predict whether the cause for any changes in bone density is due to osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, etc. Low bone density should be the case if you have low calcium levels, and that is called osteopenia. Other than this I do not think she should have mentioned any othet terms.
