Please help me with this report as given below : REASON FOR EXAM: pain Ultrasound abdomen complete. HISTORY: Pain. Symptoms have increased over the last 2 weeks, however they haven t been present for many years. History of kidney stones. TECHNIQUE: Complete abdominal ultrasound was performed. No previous studies for comparison. FINDINGS: The liver is normal in size and echotexture, with no evidence of an intrahepatic mass. The gallbladder demonstrates no wall thickening, cholelithiasis, or pericholecystic fluid. Sonographic Murphy s sign is negative. Bile duct is normal, 5 mm. The visualized portions of the pancreas appear normal. Abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava appear normal. The spleen is normal in size, 8 cm. The right kidney measures 9.3 x 3.8 x 4.2 cm and the left kidney measures 9.6 x 4.3 x 4 cm. Within the lateral mid to upper pole of the right kidney, there is an echogenic focus measuring 3 x 4 x 6 mm. This lacks posterior shadowing. There is an avascular cyst within the upper pole of the right kidney measuring 9 x 9 x 10 mm. This demonstrates a suggestion of a thin internal septation. Neither kidney demonstrates evidence of hydronephrosis. Renal echogenicity and cortical thickness appears normal. IMPRESSION: 1. There is a 6 mm echogenic focus within the right kidney, a finding which is felt to most likely represent an area of trapped renal sinus fat, or possibly a small angiomyolipoma. A nonshadowing calculus is felt to be less likely. 2. There is a 1 cm right renal cyst which demonstrates a suggestion of a thin internal septation.
