Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does This Abdominal CT Scan Result For Excess Belching Indicate?
I m a 56 year old female, never smoked (except maybe to try it once). No symptoms of anything, except belching that they were scanning abdomen for. CT scan of abdomen showed a couple of non-calcified nodules on lung, one 6mm and the other 4mm. I have a single occurrence/history of melanoma in-situ. Doctor scheduled an immediate follow up CT scan of entire chest and an appt two days from now. Results of original CT scan today weren t expected for 48 hours, yet I got a call this afternoon. Is there significant reason of concern (everything is a concern but how serious)?
CT scan of chest showing non-calcified nodules in lung can be due to lymph nodes. I suggest you to get a high resolution CT scan of lung to assess the nature of nodules. In case the nodules are accessible to biopsy, aspiration of the nodules can be done to know the nature of cells in nodules. Management can be done after knowing the nature of cells in the nodules.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
