What Does This MRI Report Specify?

Hi; I just received a copy of my brain MRI (performed annually for past 5 years). (It was found that with the first MRI 5 years ago (I was 48 years old), I had over 40 lesions within different areas of the white matter of my brain. The largest was 8mm.) The most recent report states the following: *Two left small centrum seiovale leasions are suggestive of small lacunar infarcts *Rigt side of the Pons at the level of the superior cerebellar peduncle and within the left Pons at the level of the middle cerebral peduncle, there are small areas of T2 signal hyperintensity. *Susceptibility imaging demonstrates a small developmental venous anomaly within the right Pons with may account for the right Pontine abnormality *There is mild frontal lobe volume loss It has been suspected I might have MS. I have been diagnosed with Lupus and Antiphospholid Antibody Syndrom and have had 3 PE s. Should I be concerned with the findings of this MRI report. My GP is not. Please advise. Thank you

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi,

Yes. The MRI appears to be consistent with MS. A good neurologist along with a rheumatologist could help a lot.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
