I am a 4 year breast cancer survivor. I have recently has an MRI with and without contrast. I have a lesion on L3 that does not meet criteria for a hemangioma. It demostrated T1 hypointensity with no assoicated T1 hyperintense signal. There was all diffuse homogeneous enhancement on MRI with contrast. They have suggested a PET scan and bone scan. Can you please explain what the MRI with contrast showed?
1.The MRI shows findings not consistent with Hemangioma neither with metastasis. 2.MRI is not good to differentiate the bony lesions and differential features. 3.Homogeneous enhancement is a feature of hemangioma - since there is a risk factor - further delineation is needed. 4.PET CT - positron emission tomography is best investigation for delineation of the lesion and rule out the possibilities of the metastasis. 5.Suggest to follow the instructions and get the needful investigations done. Good luck.
