What Does This HSG Report Indicate?

Hi Dr. I just got the hsg report which says: Control radiograph is not remarkable. Contrast level shows an elongated and irregularly outlined uterine cavity due to myoma: any history of surgery? Both fallopian tubes are seen with free peritoneal spill on the left and contrast smearing on the right indicating bilateral tubal patency.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome to HCM, I understand your concerns.
Your usg report indicates that there is a fibroid which is a muscle cell mass,it is a benign tumor not cancerous.
Peritoneal spill mentioned in the report is normal.

Fibroid is causing decrease in the uterine cavity ,important for implantation of the fertilized of UK,so it can be the cause for infertility.
Tubes are normal, that means path from uterine cavity to ovary is good ,which is important for fertilisation.

Fibroid is due to excess estrogen which may cause irregular periods ,pain and infertility.

Kindly consult a gynic get the exact size, and get it removed.Myomectomy is the surgical procedure ,which can be done by laparoscopy or open surgery.

Hope this will help you.
Thank you.
