What Does This CT Scan Test Result Of Lungs Indicate?

The cardiologist had a contrast CT done because my heart seems ok, but I am very short of breath. It showed opacities of both lungs, the girl said, and that it could be edema or lung problems. I don t have edema in my legs. And I am not sick. After a blood test, they referred me to the pneumonologist. What do you think the opacities mean? Never smoked. Did have second-hand smoke. I have been short of breath for years, just thought is was because of obesity. 5 5 and 220. female.

I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns according to the latest medical guidelines.

Obesity also contributes in Shortness of breath (SOB). Second hand smoking is also a major cause of this issue. That's why smoking in public places is prohibited and doctors warn not to have a company of smokers.

Opacities may also be formed from local infection in lungs due to Pneumonia, Atelectasis-lung's small portion of lung volume is lost due to collapse, Pulmonary embolism due to hemorrhage or other blood clot issues, Noncardiac pulmonary edema, Neoplasms especially in noncardiac patients, Tuberculosis and fungal infections.

Your Pulmonologist will rule out the cause after careful evaluation.
