I have back pain in the middle of my back (bra level) the findings of my ctscan says there is a mild curvature convex to the right maxillary ( scolios for a long time) midthoracic spine. There are moderate hyperthrophic changes associated with this. There is some superior endplate irregularity within the lower and mid thoracic spine which is likely developmental and may relate to Scheuermann s disease. What does that means? No significant bony neural foraminal encroachment was seen. There is no obvious compromise of spinal canal. Soft tissue nerve root sheath impingement is difficult to exclude due to the artififact from the adjacent bony structures and woukd be better delineated with MRI What shall I do? I have a ctscan every year for my lungs so I need to be careful with the radiation? Thanks for caring!Nicole
I suggest you to get MRI sine for assessment of soft tissue and nerve roots. Any impingement of nerve roots can be delineated with MRI since they cannot be viewed CT scan due to artifact caused by bony structures.
