What Does This CT Scan Report Of The Left Wrist Indicate?

I recently had a CT of the left wrist involving a scaphoid fracture. I cannot understand the following terms There is no acute fracture or malalignment. Specifically no acute scaphoid fracture is appreciated. Slight cortical irregularity of the distal aspect of the scaphoid along the radial margin is seen, this may represent site of previous fracture. Clinical correlation and correlation with previous imaging is advised. A small subchondral lucency is noted within the distal aspect of the trapezoid, likely a small subchondral cyst. A small bone island is also noted within the trapezoid. No acute fracture or malalignment. Correlation with any previous imaging of the wrist is advised. Small subchondral cyst within the trapezoid distally. Thank you.

Hi there,
if I were your doctor I would have explained you that your fracture or displacement of scaphoid bone is not new. but there are some changes in the lower end of wrist bone i.e. scaphoid especially on its outer aspect which explain that you had a fracture to this bone somewhere in the past.
A human wrist has 8 bones out of which scaphoid bone is the largest.
Bones are connected with each other to form a joint, the joint surface of a bone is covered by cartilage, sometimes under the cartilage small collections of fluid are formed which appear as light coloured shadows on imaging. so one of your wrist bone named trapezoid has this collection which is written as subchondral cyst.
I hope I have made the terminologies clear for you.
please ask more if you have any concerns. Have a good day.
regards
