What Does This CT Scan Report Of Chest And Abdomen Indicate?
CT scan chest and whole abdomen (non ionic) axial images were obtained after contract injection obtaining biphasis images in arterial and venous phases. Oral contract was also given. CT SCAN CHEST: There is evidence of diffuse areas of interstitial thickening in both lungs showing scattered distribution with pan lobular involvement. There is also interstitial nodularity and also discrete separate parenchymal nodules in both lungs measuring subcentimeter and less in size. Findings are consistent with lymphangitic carinomatosis and mestatic pulmonary nodules. No infiltrate, mass or consolidation seen in either lung No evidence of pleural effusion. No evidence ofbilar. mediastinal or axillary lymphadenopathy. The vascular and bony structures are normal.
The report suggests that there is a disorder with involvement of the interstitial (supporting structures of the lung) along with a few nodularities in the lung parenchyma (substance). The diagnosis of lymphangitis carcinoma to sis would suggest that it's secondary to some malignancy.. the primary malignancy needs to be found out..
