What Does This CT Scan Indicate?

i have had breast cancer for many years, 5 tumors, 3 i lymph nodes. began having uncontrollable movements, , called Dr. he set up EEG and MRI, pet, an ct.. had a really bad reaction to ct die, spent a week in hospital. Things then began to get odd. I was in for a bone scan, could see the monitor talking to the tech and at the bottom of sternum to about thyroid level high, and midway to where nipples would be, was huge red area. I got the results which said no uptake. the tecnicion also saw and remarked on it. I recieved the written report, and it said no uptake.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

I understand your concern after reading through your medical history which includes a breast cancer, 5 tumors and 3 lymph nodes at various locations.

A bone scan is very sensitive to picking up abnormal metabolism in various parts of the body that indicate a possible malignancy or area of higher metabolism.

As you have mentioned the report states no uptake then it is certainly confirmed that there is no abnormal area of uptake on the bone scan and you need not worry.

The area of mid line in the sternum from the level of thyroid and downwards is routinely marked by a control tracer. This is to define the normal uptake of the radioactive isotope and is kept to calibrate the radioactivity found in any other part of the body. This red patch that you see is the calibration marker and a normal part of the procedure.
