What Does There Is A 3 Cm Intramural Fibroid Within The Mid Body Of The Uterus With Small Fundal Myomas Indicate?

Hello, I am a 30 year old woman. I just got results of an MRI back for a sports injury to my hip, but in the findings of the report, it mentions that there is a 3cm intramural fibroid within the mid body of the uterus with small fundal myomas. I am not particularly concerned about the fibroid, but I have never heard of the fundal myoma. What does that mean and Should I be concerned?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from multiple uterine fibroids.Fibroid is benign tumour of the uterus.
Fundal myoma(finbroid) is the condition in which fibroid is present in fundal region of the uterus. It is a very common site for fibroid.
Fibroid can be treated by both means conservatively and surgically.
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs are commonly used in the medical treatment of fibroids.
Since you are only 30 years old, myomectomy is the last option in which fibroid is removes surgically.

Hope I have answered your question.
Take Care
