What Does The Ultrasound Report Suggests?

just had an UltraSound ... this is the findings, what does it mean ?

The right kidney measures 10.6 cm. The left kidney

measures 12.9 cm. Both kidneys demonstrate normal echogenicity

without evidence of focal mass. An 8 mm echogenic focus is seen

in the upper pole of the right kidney without definite posterior

acoustic shadowing. A 2.4 x 1.6 x 2.3 cm cyst is seen in the

lower pole of the left kidney which appears unchanged. No

evidence of hydronephrosis.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

According to the report, left kidney is mildly enlarged in size as compared to right kidney. Both kidneys shows normal echogenicity.
There is 8 mm echogenic focus seen in the upper pole of the right kidney without definite posterior acoustic shadowing, it may be due to concretion.
There is single cyst seen in the lower pole of the left kidney measuring 2.4 x 1.6 x 2.3 cm, it may be age related simple renal cyst.
Other findings are normal like there is no hydronephrosis.
Hope i have answered your query.
