Hello Amarjeet
S G P T or also known as alanine aminotrnsferase ( ALT), this is progressively decreasing . S GPT is primarily found in liver.
Let me explain , what is its significance , so you will understand very well.
This enzyme ( also sgot) is relesed into the blood in greater amounts when there is damage to the liver cell membrane resulting in increased permeability .
LIVER cell necrosis in NOT required for the release of aminotransferases & there is poor correlation between the degree of liver cell damage & the level of the aminotransferases .
Any type of liver cell injury can cause modest elevation in the sgpt.
Levels up to 300 U/L is NON-SPECIFIC & may be found in any liver disorder.
Since in your case it is decreasing so get in only ultrasound of liver and if no abnormality , no any treatment .
Hope with the help of this information you will understand everything.
