What Does The Pathology Indicate?

I just received a "suggestive of sjogrens disease" pathology diagnosis of a lip biopsy. The eye test was negative. High ana, sed rate, speckled pattern, mildly high rheumatiod factor, positive sjogrens antibodies, neg erlichia and babesia, neg ccp, and slightly anemic. Very severe pain in shoulders, hips, and lower back with sudden onset and rapid, highly effective response to prednisone. Negative Lyme (western blot and pcr), neg. HIV, neg Hep B, neg celiac, What do I really have? Could it be a parasite or mycobacterium?

Hello,
Sjogren syndrome is a autoimmune disease characterized by xerostomia and keratoconjunctivitis, means dry mouth and dry eyes respectively. Biopsy of the lip is essential to make a diagnosis of sjogrens. There is loss of immune tolerance in this disease which targets mainly the exocrine glands that is salivary glands and lacrimal glands. These are destroyed and replaced by lymphocytes and fibrous tissue. Also other tests positive ANA, rheumatoid factor, antibodies specific for sjogrens support the diagnosis made on biopsy.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
